Hi Deborah, I am so glad you like the website! Well, you taught me something new today. While I have installed cordless pleated and honeycomb blinds before I had not done a cordless Roman. But I did some research and it looks like your best bet is going to be online (which is the jist of most of my website). I saw some options on Amazon and Target but a step up in quality would be Country Curtains or Smith + Noble where they had a couple of stripes and solids to choose from. Your fabric choices are going to be a bit more limited than regular corded Romans because the fabric has to be ultra-light to work with the cordless mechanism.
Good luck!
~Lorrie

Thanks so much, Lorrie, for sharing your secrets: A great help! I was about to pull my hair out, yet again-- trying to measure for an area-rug for my family room, that has an odd configuration.

Also, I want to change window treatments (in several rooms), to something other than curtains that are attracting a lot of dust, pet hair and other allergens.

Since I want to adjust light and privacy my thinking was, "Roman shades," and the look was appealing to me, also.

Yet I would need cordless shades (for when my daughter's family visits).

In the stores, I haven't had much luck--especially in locating cordless styles that are "ready-made," within my price-range.

Retail-prices and availability (where I live) seem to reflect that a cordless shade is a luxury or custom-made item--when cords actually present a choking hazzard, to babies and very young children.

If you know of anyone who carries a selection of cordless (Roman or similar) shades in standard sizes, it would greatly help!.

And when measuring, are Roman shades mounted from the top or the sides, of the windowframes?

Thanks again!

Great post. I like that you used pictures that provide good feng shui such as a solid headboard, matching night stands with matching table lamps. For additional Feng Shui tips and the Feng Shui Colors For a Bedroom, visit http://www.kenlauher.com/feng-shui-tips/bid/7090/Feng-Shui-Colors-For-A-Bedroom.
