Hello, I just moved into my new place with my two best friends in the world. One is a boy and the other is a girl and neither have any care for the interior design. But I love interior design. I live for HGTV and home design. My room is of course brilliant but I want to fix up the common areas too which I’ve never done before so I need some help.

I’m in so many situations where I need to describe the proposed look of a room to a future client. While our conversations begin with the financial need to freshen the home, they always end up with worried looks about the decor. My sister is building a house on the land where the house was that we grew up (my parent had to tear it down for foundation problems). My sister is a young mother with three boys (4,2 and 3 months). She is interested in decorating her new house nicely but also so that it won’t be trashed in life with three little guys.

I want this book because I am an interior decorator wannabe geek! I love redecorating, especially on a budget and helping friends pull it all together with a collective effort of thrift, vintage, new, internet, ebay, Goodwill, and family heirlooms.
I love learning new ideas, concepts, layouts, patterns, textures, and form and function. It doesn’t matter what style – I love to learn about all of it; however, my personal favorite is Mid-Century modern with a dash of vintage, a jigger of contemporary and a heavy dressing of “Jules”.

Aside from sounding like a really interesting resource, I am another of those whose brain operates like a sieve! Give me too many details, or options, or things to remember and I will misplace (forget!) about half! Very frustrating! With a pocket book like this, I can save time, gas, and my sanity by knowing exactly what I am shopping for and remembering the details the first time out! And the bonus is that as someone who enjoys decorating, and who also appreciates decorating books/magazines simply for the pictures, ideas, and information, this would provide me with some entertainment and education!

I have been in my house for 10 years, which, as you know, is a long time for South Florida. My living room windows are still bare because I cannot decide or have the courage to decide what look would compliment the room. I look at fabric and window coverings all the time, but never move forward. I would love to use this book to help me get out of my rut.

I would love this book as I am design challenged and could use some help. I have made some costly mistakes, ie having to repaint as I have picked the wrong color and slipcovering with the wrong prints and wrong rug choices.
