Win “The Pocket Renovator” Book

What sort of profile should the kitchen countertop have – bullnose, cove, ogee, reverse ogee, or straight?  If your answer was ”Huh?”  or “I have absolutely no idea!” then you need to try and win a copy of this book, The Pocket Renovator!

The book was written by the mother-daughter duo of Leslie Banker and Pamela Banker.  Earlier this month three lucky winners won copies of their first book, The Pocket Decorator.  Well, their back and today we are glad to be able to offer you the chance to win one of three copies of their second book,  The Pocket Renovator

To Enter Simply…

Oh do I ever need help and The Pocket Renovator sounds like just the thing! We have to redo our bathroom because of leaks between the tile and the shower floor which is a fine place for the mold that is growning. I just do not know where to begin. Also must redo the kitchen because all the major appliances are breaking and the sink leaks and there are no replacement parts for the4 bulb florescent ceiling fixture which now has only one working bulb! Please of please help.

  21. Kathy S Says:

Oh, I could tell you a million tales from my looong marriage to a guy with a degree in Architectural Design, who designed and built our home. I know all of the construction lingo, having helped him through his schooling, but when it came to designing and building (by himself) our home….he seemed to throw all of his knowledge to the wind. This time around after many years in the house…I’m going to rip things out and do it over myself! This book would be a great help to me, and if possible…you could supply a nice construction crew for me HA!

I don’t know the first thing about bullnose, cove, ogee, reverse ogee, or straight, so I need this book as my kitchen is my next big project and I will try to do it on the cheep (if that is at all possible). I’ve been slowly renovating a 1930’s log cabin and the kitchen is about 30 years old with cheep stock cabinets (fiberboard) and damaged worn out wood countertop and a 27 year old stove that is on it’s last leg. From afar, it doesn’t look that bad but If I could just change out the cabinets and countertops and add a new range, it would be great and knowing what I’m doing would be even greater. Thanks for the greatest giveaway!

  52. Melanie Says:

We just moved into a new house a few months ago, and we are so ready to start the renovating process, because even though we love this house, it needs a few tweaks to truly feel like our home.

  56. Mollie G. Says:

I’d LOVE to win this, because I am really tired of being on the sideline in those conversations between the contractor and my husband, hearing “blah blah, blah — but then blah — oh, and blah, blah, blah — and what do YOU think, Mollie??”

And the “improve the resale value of the house” projects seem to just keep coming, and coming…

    Help!

  57. flared0ne Says:

In my experience I’ve found that one of the best ways to be fully prepared for a discussion is to understand as much of the context as possible. Among other possibilities (like better understanding what design constraints are pertinent in style decisions) being told “Oh, no, that’s going to cost extra because we’ll have to borgnobble the framistan” deserves a well-informed response.

  58. Gary Green Says:

I would love to win this prize.

  59. Janice Wright Says:

I own a 120 year old “farmhouse” that happens to be in the middle of my little town. The exterior is wonderful; I had it resided three years ago & it makes it look marvelous. In fact I was out driving around a couple of evenings ago & decided with its pretty little porch, it’s one of the most attractive houses in town. Well on the outside anyway. The inside needs lots of work. This book would help me decide what I wanted.

  60. Alexandrea M Says:

I would love to win this because the bath and the kitchen are the two areas in my house that are the weakest and smallest – I want to replace the kitchen counter but don’t know where to start, there are too many options.

  61. George Casson Says:

Want the book because our house needs work in the kitchen and bathrooms, maybe this would help.
