Recent TV commercials show us how this economy is changing the way we do things. Instead of spendy nights out on the town we are enjoying Mac ‘n Cheese with a side of Monopoly on Friday night. We’re getting back to basics and honestly I like the sound of it. Another wonderful aspect of our recent economy are the unbelievable real estate prices which are leading us back to homes that may have been overlooked in recent years.
These wonderfully designed homes have been carefully nurtured by the owners to preserve their unique qualities. With rich architectural details and a strong design concept, they touch a place in my heart that just spells HOME. I stumbled upon 3 such stunners in a recent New York Times article. The “realness” of these homes, makes my design sensibility sing!
Now I know it doesn’t make sense to move 3 states away to take advantage of one of these deals featured on TV or in the paper but the point is that they are all around us if we are willing to take a closer look. Yes, these homes take a special person who will put up with the quirkiness that old homes often have. But on the upside they have character and a wonderful story of which you and your family will be woven into for years to come.
Have a good weekend everyone!
