I started My Design Secrets more than a year ago with one goal in mind: Help people who love home decorating by giving them professional advice and easy access to the best online interior decorating sources. After receiving a lot of wonderful feedback and learning that close to 100,000 people visted the database last year, I realized that My Secret Database was the answer to many of your decorating prayers! So, I was determined to continue sharing my interior design advice and resources.
A couple of months ago, I announced that we would be making some upgrades to the website. Now, the time has come! We wanted to make My Design Secrets even more useful, interesting, and fun for all of you decorating enthusiasts. (And for those of you who don’t know, my husband, Tim, is the what turns “me” into “we”.)
So, here is what’s in store…

The new database is PHENOMENAL. When it comes to home decorating, My Secret Database blows any search engine out of the water. Take that Google! Here’s why:

*While we wanted to keep doing all this for free, a girl has got to make a living! With all these great new features, we are confident that you will recognize what a great value it is. So starting this Wednesday at noon, My Secret Database is going to become a membership only site. We are sure you will agree that the nominal charge of $9.95 per month is a fair price for access to this incredibly valuable, time-saving database.

FAGOR SLIM DESIGNS by Erika Carolina Soza
I spent this past Sunday browsing the booths at the 2009 Miami Spring Home Show and came across many new and interesting design trends. One of my favorites, by far, was the appliance selection offered by Fagor, a European company that produces appliances that are not only smaller in size (for smaller spaces) but are also eco-friendly.
…

Hydroforming is a cutting-edge technology used in the automobile industry. Fagor has introduced this advanced technique to manufacture AIS dishwasher tubs. The stainless steel tank, which is made of one piece, is solid and durable. This also helps to reduce the noise level during operation. The seamless tub is highly rust resistant.
…
My personal favorite piece was their stainless steel dishwasher storage column. I love that the dishwasher is raised from the ground about 20″, which means no longer bending down (and straining your back) to place or remove dishes. It also comes equipped with different size storage drawers for plates and glasses, silverware, and pots and pans. Another big plus in this genius dishwasher is that it’s implemented with an eco sensor that determines the levels of soil, and adjusts the amounts of water used in each cycle accordingly; avoiding using too much water and energy for smaller less messy cycles. Besides being energy (and back) efficient, this dishwasher is very aesthetically pleasing with it’s minimal and sleek stainless steel design which is also fingerprint resistant.
…

Another item in their line that drew my attention was their slim refrigerator design. This super skinny fridge is only 23 ½” wide –perfect for those small kitchens! (An average refrigerator measures between 30-48″wide). It’s also 24″ deep which means that it will smoothly integrate with your cabinets, not stick out like most refrigerators. Like the dishwasher, this unit is also eco-friendly. Its energy saving feature always maintains the temperature inside, regardless of the exterior temperature conditions of the refrigerator. It also has a built in Bio Filter which prohibits bacteria and mold from growing-which is a health factor plus. This filter also causes odors to be eliminated and preserves food longer-meaning you throw away less food, and save money on groceries!

FAGOR's 36" induction cooktop is equipped with five high efficiency induction elements to offer maximum flexibility. Elements will not activate unless detecting induction ready cookware. Cooking zones automatically adjust energy output to suit the diameter of the cookware.
…
Many of the vendors from My Secret Database carry Fagor products; including Sur La Table, JCPenney, and Williams Sonoma.
Overall, this line had me raving about their slim and eco-friendly designs! Although these appliances may be a little pricier, in the long run they will help you save hundreds of dollars in water and electric (and chiropractor) bills.
